NEWS Lightroom Photos launches Rights Managed editorial stock photo portal Lightroom Photos now has a new largely Rights Managed (RM) editorial stock photography portal. After seven years without a permanent home, the collection now has it's own dedicated server. This is continually updated with new work, so please search regularly @ http://lightroom.momapix.com/ Currently, we are busy uploading the core Lightroom collection. Plus, lots of new work will be coming in on an almost daily basis, so please register as so you don't miss out! Lightroom Photos is also again accepting contributions from other photographers and agencies. Please email if you are interested in hosting your collection on the portal. The database allows registered users to download high resolution images and create lightboxes. At the moment, anyone can browse the collection without registration. Unlike other portals, Lightroom's new database is "event" based, i.e. offering the set of images uploaded by the photographer on a topical based system. Registering allows us to inform you when work that may interest you is uploaded to the collection, whether your interest is sports photos or reportage images from the world's trouble spots. You can also search normally through the collection using the search box. We expect that the collection will be begin to grow quickly, so do check back to see new and timely work that is uploaded into the collection when you are searching for editorial stock photos. Lightroom Everest collection is now one of the most comprehensive available Having now spent over 10 months working in the Mount Everest region of Nepal, Lightroom's Jon Mitchell has one of the most comprehensive contemporary collections available on this region. In addition to images of trekking, Jon Mitchell has also photographed the daily life of the Sherpas in some depth and even has a set of aerial photos taken from a helicopter trip in 2005. Jon has also documented the effects of climate change on this region of the high Himalaya. Much of this new material is now available on the Lightroom database. Jon also has a lot of material on 35mm film (including aerials) which he has been unable to scan due to financial constraints. It is hoped these 500+ select images will be scanned sometime during 2008. Lightroom Photos now off DRR.net Lightroom Photos is tied into a contract until July 2008 with Digital Railroad though the account is now suspended and therefore so is access to it. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Instead please visit the new Lightroom Photos editorial image portal - which specialises in reportage stock photography. |
